In an exclusive deleted scene from Legends of Tomorrow Season 5, Astra plays coy about her plans for John Constantine’s soul in a chat with Lachesis.
John Constantine made Astra Logue a promise, and she plans to hold him to it. In a deleted scene from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 5, released exclusively to CBR, Astra refuses to let her mentor Lachesis kill him — even though she threatened to kill him herself.
The clip opens in Hell, where Lachesis — then known only as the Coinmaker — tinkered with a soul coin as she awaited Astra’s return. When she heard the door open, she called out to Astra, saying, “I noticed Genghis Khan and Damien Darhk’s coins are out of play. That’s huge profits and a lot of silent inches just wasted away.”

Astra ignored that comment. “I brought tea,” she announced, handing a paper bag to Lachesis. “It’s the kind you like from the place down the alley.”
“And John Constantine is walking topside,” Lachesis remarked.

“John is only alive because I need him alive,” Astra replied airily.
“Is that so?” Lachesis shot back. “As I recall, your exact words were, ‘I don’t want to trade him. I want to kill him.'”
“Plans changed. I needed leverage. John is working for me now,” Astra explained. “He promised me something.”

“He can’t do anything for you that you cannot do for yourself,” Lachesis insisted, reaching out for the coin Astra wore around her neck. “So why don’t I take his coin right now and recall –” However, she stopped short when Astra cried, “No, don’t!” and clapped a hand defensively to her chest.
In response, Lachesis looked at her with reproach. “What exactly is John Constantine doing for you, Astra?” she demanded, only for Astra to gaze back guiltily.

The scene, which was cut from “Romeo v Juliet: Dawn of Justness,” followed Constantine’s promise that he would bring Astra’s mother Natalie back from the dead using the Loom of Fate. In an earlier episode, Astra brought him to death’s door by cashing in his soul coin, but he convinced her to stop by striking this deal. However, Lachesis — one of the original Greek Fates — wanted the Loom back for herself and was none too pleased with Astra’s change of heart.
This deleted scene and others will be available on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Complete Fifth Season, which releases on Blu-ray and DVD on Sept. 22. Other special features include a gag reel, all five episodes of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover and more.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann and Jes Macallan. Season 6 will premiere in 2021 on The CW.
